History: This bracelet was a marvel of design in its day. Inspired by the rise of designers of the 1960-70s, who were introducing non traditional materials into interior design. Specifically the materials of Lucite and Acrylic. Lucite acrylic was invented by the Dupont Corporation in 1931. It was crystal clear with a 93% transparency rate, resistant to water and UV rays, and was low density yet stronger than previous plastics. The problem arose in the actual molding and designing of this material for different mediums such as jewelry. Using thin layers of the material and much more precise embellishments, transformed the final design into something much more delicate. Something of a statement piece you could say. An incredibly hard to mold piece, made of just one single piece of mixed Lucite and Acrylic, then painted afterwards and embedded with Swarovski crystals. This bracelet is one of a kind, having only originally been released in a small batch of 2000, then re-releasing in similar styles eight years later in much larger quantities.
